Black History Month
Children's Book Drive
ALL FEBRUARY
-
Celebrate Black History Month through Reading
Support Our Children in underserved areas of Staten Island
Every Thing Goes is excited to partner with the Staten Island Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. by hosting their 6th annual book drive! Once again, during the entire month of February, ETG Book Cafe will be a collection point for children’s books. These books will be passed on to Pre-K to 8th Grade students and school libraries at the most deserving schools in the North Shore area.
Are you interested in positively impacting children’s education in our community? Here is a simple way. Perhaps you have children's books in good condition at home? We encourage you to bring them in, and/ or you may like to purchase our second-hand books and donate them to the book drive. Simply add the books — from home or bought here- to the collection box at the book café.
The Sorority’s mission hones the purpose: We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion by collecting new or gently used books that reflect the experiences of all students, with an emphasis on literature authored and illustrated by Black individuals, people of color, and featuring multilingual content.

{Menu coming soon}
BOOKS
We are the largest (and only!) used bookstore in Staten Island. We have a well-organized and diverse book collection, spanning all three rooms of our store. We also sell some new books: hot-selling recently-published books, some books about Staten Island, and some by local authors. We have an excellent children’s book corner, some vintage and collectable books, and a few “antiques”. Many of our more valuable books are also offered for sale online through Biblio.
COLLECTIBLE BOOKS
We sell some of our more unusual and valuable books on Biblio.com. The prices range from $15 to over $500.
You can browse through the books on the Biblio website, order them and have them shipped to you, OR come in to purchase your selection and save on the shipping. Most of them are well described and include photos of the books.

RECORDS
Looking for old-style vinyl records? We have them- 33’s and 45’s! We also carry CD’s (at bargain prices) and a small selection of 78’s and cassette tapes.. There’s a listening station in our “record room”.
PLANTS
In 2021, we added house plants to our offerings. Plants help to create a healthier indoor environment, cleaning some pollutants from the air we breathe. So now we’ve made it “Easy To Be Green” in yet another way!
EVENTS
Since 2005, we have hosted hundreds of events, including concerts, poetry readings, open mics, book release (author) events, drum circles, seed swaps, educational talks, film screenings, pop-up craft markets, and more! Most of our events are free; sometimes there is a small admission fee. Due to the pandemic, we cut back our open hours and event schedule. But events are coming back!

OUR SPACE
We have several rooms, leading to our peaceful backyard garden, where you will find gnomes, fairies and other magical beings (if you look carefully!). There is cafe seating in our large front room, as well in the back garden and out front on the sidewalk. The front room is the largest room; most events take place there. The second room is jam-packed with books, organized by category. The third room holds our record department and includes a listening station. And more books! Lots of beautiful cookbooks & art books as well as dictionaries, and books on music, theater, photography, Do-It-Yourself topics, and more.
